How do you wear leg warmers?

Push them down into a slouch over platform boots or trainers, or pull them up over the knee with a mini skirt to close the gap that tights leave. Over stockings they add texture; over bare legs they read softer. Faux fur boot covers do the same job with more volume and turn a plain boot into the loudest thing in the outfit.
